I used a variation of the first one on 22-Oct-2003:
Ingredients
The fruit:
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- 2 cups chopped rhubarb
- 2 cups diced apples
- 1 tablespoon grated lemon or orange rind
Crumble topping:
- ½ cup wholemeal plain flour
- ½ cup oats
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 60g butter
- 1 pinch cinnamon
What to do:
- Dice fruit
- Disolve sugar and
- Stir sugar and water over medium heat dissolve
- Bring to the boil and add the fruit and rind
- Simmer gently with the lid on for 10 minutes or until tender
- Pre-heat oven to 210°
- Pour fruit into greased pie dish
- Rub butter into flour, oats, sugar and cinnamon
- Sprinkle crumble over fruit
- Bake for 20 mins until crumble is golden brown
